Avenue of Art Paintings – “Hope on the Way” by Rosalie Tarr

I was honored when the Sarasota Children’s Museum, a cause dear to my heart, invited me to represent them in the Avenue of Art for the Child Protection Center (CPC). The Child Protection Center’s vital mission is to prevent, intervene in, and treat child abuse, fostering a world where children are safe and can flourish. The Sarasota Children’s Museum, committed to child-centered experiences that ignite wonder, creativity, and joyful learning, proudly supports CPC’s mission. Together, these organizations strive to ensure our youth and families are safe, supported, and educated—helping to craft a lasting legacy for Sarasota.

The piece “Hope on the Way” was inspired by Sarasota’s enduring legacy of safeguarding and nurturing its children, and a vision of hope for their bright futures.

In a fun twist, the Child Protection Center requested an interactive section. I hope you and your children enjoy the playful “Hop and Pop” areas designed just for engagement and enjoyment!

About the Artist: Rosalie Cole Tarr A third-generation Floridian who recently moved from Orlando to Sarasota, I have always encouraged my three daughters and seven (soon to be eight) grandchildren to appreciate our beautiful “Land of Flowers.” As family life settled, I embarked on “Rosie’s Renaissance,” rekindling my passion for the piano and diving into watercolor painting. Each workshop brings new insights into color palettes and the delightful interaction of pigments on various papers. Alongside precious friendships, a wonderful surprise has been the new perspective I’ve gained on the world, challenging myself to capture these visions on paper through the lens of these vibrant, transparent colors.
