You’ve expressed interest in joining a Sarasota Children’s Museum committee — thank you! We’re excited to get to know you and find the best place for your time, energy, and talents.

As we build our team, we want to make sure everyone is placed in a role that aligns with their availability and interests. Below is a quick recap of what it means to be a committee member versus a volunteer, so you can confirm which option is best for you right now.

💼 Committee Members:

• • Contribute ideas and action.
    Share your creativity and insights—and take ownership by turning ideas into reality. We value follow-through just as much as brainstorming.
  • Be dependable.
    When you commit to a task, your follow-up helps the entire team succeed. Every action, big or small, moves us closer to our goals.
  • Be a champion for the museum.
    Represent us with enthusiasm and integrity in the community, and help expand our reach through your networks.
  • Stay engaged and informed.Keep up with key initiatives and goals so you can align your work with where we’re headed.

• Commit to a 1-year renewable term.

• Attend 2 meetings per month (on average), plus approx. 2–4 hours of additional time.

• We ask that committee members aim for approximately 40–60 volunteer hours annually, including meetings, events, and task work.

• Participate in planning, execution, and follow-through of initiatives.

• Attendance at key events, when possible.

• Stay up to date on museum goals and represent us in the community.

💛 Volunteers:

• Help when and where you can.

• No formal commitment required.

• Great for those who want to support events, programs, or tasks occasionally.
